Dave Smith’s Libertarian “Values” Lasted a Whole 6 Days
As expected, MAGA Red-Pillers are all crawling back to Trump. The
If you read our last breakdown—"Wrong Target: MAGA’s Real Problem with a Strike on Iran"—you know the pattern by now: whenever Trump crosses a red line, MAGA’s “principled” influencers throw a fit—then, almost on cue, start walking it all back.
In that article, we highlighted how even the loudest critics—Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon, Marjorie Taylor Greene—were already softening their supposed opposition to Trump’s Iran strike before the smoke had even cleared. The outrage was loud, but loyalty always wins.
But there was one exception. Dave Smith, the so-called “principled libertarian,” stood alone. He hadn’t just criticized Trump—he called for his impeachment and publicly regretted his own vote. At the time we published, Smith was the last holdout. The one Red Pill influencer who seemed like he might actually stand on principle.
Well, it’s been seven days. And wouldn’t you know it? Dave Smith is back in line—with a two-minute tap dance that would make any party loyalist proud.
Don’t take our word for it. Watch Smith’s latest performance on Tim Pool’s show and see the pivot in real time:
Let’s break it down:
Smith admits he regretted voting for Trump, but almost immediately launches into the classic influencer two-step: minimize the regret (“that’s over, that’s in the past”), pivot to false equivalence (“Trump’s still better than Kamala Harris”), then hedge all bets with “who knows, it’s all counterfactuals.”
He wants to look like the maverick—“I’m just supposed to tell the truth”—but listen closely: the whole monologue is about deflecting responsibility and making sure he never really leaves the team. Even while he pretends to call out Trump, he’s careful to signal to his audience (and to Trump’s power brokers) that he’s still loyal. The real message: “Don’t worry, I’m not a traitor. I just need to look honest for my brand.”
For those who’ve followed Unmasking MAGA, this is déjà vu. There are no real libertarian Red Pill influencers—just actors running through the motions. No matter how loud the outrage, they always come home to the coalition. If you haven’t read Unmasking MAGA, you’re missing out on the playbook that keeps you two steps ahead of every so-called “revolt.”
Every “influencer” in the MAGA coalition plays this game—because they know the price of real defiance.
They never break ranks. They just perform honesty to keep the brand alive.
So, next time you see a Red Pill influencer take a so-called “stand,” remember Dave Smith’s 2-minute shuffle. They’ll never actually leave the coalition. And the moment the base—or the power brokers—crack the whip, they’ll walk it all back.
Because this isn’t just about Dave Smith. It’s about understanding the machinery of MAGA, influencer culture, and the way power keeps its hold. We’ll keep calling it out, every time—because someone has to break the cycle of loyalty and lies.
No ads. No billionaires. Just one person, fighting like hell to call out fascism and build a better future.

The repubes have always stuck together like glue, but maga has taken it to new levels. Any rebellion or independence is pure theater. They don’t care about dismal polling, facts, or their conscience. They will pass their big beautiful turd of a bill no matter what because their only lodestar is dear leader’s approval.
I gave up on the Supreme Court in December 2000. Have been waiting for the rest of the nation to catch up and am now too old to do anything more about it.
