Your perspective resonated with me. // I agree that protesting the likes of Trump, Vance, and Miller is a waste of time except to remind our peers we're not alone (which is important!). I personally think it's time to organize a coordinated pressuring of the Democratic Party AND challenge our peers to mobilize (the apathetic and the overwhelmed). And for those of us who have the fortitude, to continue to engage with MAGA fam and friends. I think the example of pressuring Blue States to follow CA in legislating unmasked law enforcement and the coordinated efforts of CA, WA, and Oregon to provide health care dirwctives ( West Coast Health Alliance). I would like to see the orgs align with coordinated actions to get more coverage. // Fatigue is real and I'd like to see an arm within political orgs addressing this.
I admire the writer - he is humble, soft spoken and eloquent- most of his this article has great and thoughtful wording, BUT ( I think ) the word choice “manifesto”
is so inflammatory. perhaps the word “DECLARATION”
would be a less controversial alternative?
If we are trying to get the uninvolved and reluctant to stand up and be counted against this immoral and unlawful Trump and his mega donors that are pulling the strings to enrich themselves !
This is the time for all of us wake up before it’s too late and we find ourselves in an unrecognizable America- all because we chose to do nothing!
I definitely feel we must stand up and push back against this TRULY unhinged authoritarian greedy regime of MAGA!

This is a nationwide event to push back- be heard and be seen - against this unconstitutional authoritarian regime.
I spent quite some time trying to decide on the name of the publication. Settling on "Manifesto" was intentional. And you capture the point precisely: because it is inflammatory.
We are living in perilous, dangerous times: when a fascist regime is seeking the annihilation of democracy and its replacement with a Christo-fascist ethnostate, willing to use the US Military against its own citizens in order to achieve that objective.
If America is to survive, it will not happen by self-censuring. It will not happen by picking the most "acceptable" and "polite" words that antagonize the least number of people. No, it will happen because we chose to embrace the most powerful, most cutting, most evocative language. And by naming the publication the American Manifesto was the most effective way of quick starting that process.
I understand that some will not agree, and I can live with that, because I'm confident that when history is written, whether we win or lose, those of us who sought an unapologetic fight for democracy will be remembered as the ones who either saved America or who were its only chance.
On the No Kings marches. I truly hope that they make some time for stopping by Democratic leaders' offices to encourage them to use the state power they have, which contrary to what they will tell you is immense—maybe even read them a manifesto 😉. If any positive change is to come from these marches, it will be by applying pressure to the levers of power that can be moved (electeds on our side), rather than yelling into the ether that we want "no kings."
Joy, i understand your sentiment and appreciate that in normal times we have to be sensitve to language we chose. But we already ARE in an unrecognizable America, and trying to appeal to RINOs (MAGA) is ineffective.
As for the podcast: I like your suggestions & have been spreading them around. But "Democratic leadership"? LOL. Isn't that an oxymoron? It's more like "Democratic reaction." :(
I'm gonna try and do them more frequently. An email should have gone out when I went live (it was a bit spontaneous, I just sent a chat message a few minutes before). It was a bit of a dry run, I definitely need to get my topics more organized.

It’s clear from Cheeto’s speech that he’s creating a LIE that anybody opposed to his Nazi regime will be called a terrorist organization
So that means if you’re participating in a peaceful protest, he has determined by executive order that he has the legal right as commander in chief to label you and your organization a terrorist who is seeking to interfere with his authority Strongman and intimidation have spoken NONSENSE Cheeto is a bag of hot air He’s scared with the strength and numbers of protesters And he’s losing the public narrative with Colbert and Kimmel still on air
The KEY to resistance is to realize that there are more of us than there are of his own 10 million of us in protest will outman Cheeto’s attempt to control the narrative Being a bully takes shallow arrogance and we know TACO French Revolution 2.0, 21st century style

That's why I think our base needs to be protesting to push Dems forward rather than yelling into the ether that we don't like Trump.
