Unify or Lose. There Is No Third Option.
The Right Has a Unified Strategy. We Have a Mess. Fix It or Lose Everything.
This article is probably going to piss some people off. I don’t care.
Our government is being torched and replaced by a fascist regime. And yet, even as we stare down a movement that has perfected the art of repetition, branding, and manipulation, I see us flailing like children, desperate to be noticed for our unique way of saying the same damn thing. I see some of our leaders call it an "autocracy," some an "oligarchy," some "authoritarianism." When referring to the other side, I hear "MAGA,"—or some variation of it like "Extreme MAGA," or "MAGAts"—"the GOP," "Nazis,"—a word salad of unfocused resistance.
This is one of the main reasons why the right has been able to drag this country into a fascist hellscape: we all keep pushing in different directions while they have one unified message. And THEY ALL FOLLOW IT.
They didn’t overthink it. They didn’t get cute with it. They didn’t waste time trying to craft the perfect nuanced descriptor. They picked “woke” and “DEI” and hammered them into the national consciousness until even people who had no clue what they meant associated them with something bad.
And guess what? IT WORKED.
The right’s greatest weapon isn’t policy—it’s messaging discipline. They reduced decades of progress to two words: "woke" and "DEI."
Even the term MAGA—the most widely used label for them—was set by them. They define the narrative while we indulge in 'messaging individualism'—as if our personal branding matters more than victory.
We cannot afford to keep making the same mistake.
So let’s get this straight: Our job is not to create a thousand different labels. It’s to unify our message so we can destroy their fascist movement. When we attack them, we do it strategically—not to "own" them online, not to showcase rhetorical cleverness, but to save OUR country and end fascism once and for all.
I’m done with this amateur-hour nonsense. If you take nothing else from this article, take this: WE NEED CONVICTION, COHESION AND DISCIPLINE.
Pick a Strategy or Get Out of the Way
And I already know what some of you are thinking: “Who are YOU to decide what the message should be?”
I don’t care if you follow my messaging. But I do care that we stop this ridiculous habit of everyone trying to brand their own personal version of the same fight. If you don’t want to adopt the American Manifesto’s messaging, fine. But FIND A STRATEGY THAT WORKS AND STICK TO IT.
Here’s what I know:
Here at the American Manifesto, we have built an entire cohesive playbook designed to obliterate the right.
It follows the exact model they used to win: simple, clear, emotionally resonant messaging repeated relentlessly.
It is NOT a disjointed mess of academic definitions and competing slogans. It is a unified offensive.
If you don’t want to use it, then come up with something better—not just different, BETTER. If you don’t have a full strategy that can actually win, stop trying to carve out your own messaging lane. Get in line behind one that works.
This is an information war. Wars aren’t won by everyone running in different directions trying to get credit for their unique take on battle tactics. Wars are won by cohesion.
The Right’s Messaging is Brutally Effective—Ours Needs to Be Better
Here’s why the right’s strategy worked—and why ours will, too, if we stop acting like amateurs:
Their terms are simple and universal.
“Woke” and “DEI” are catch-all enemies that every faction on the right can rally behind. Fake Christians use them to attack LGBTQ+ rights and women’s autonomy. Libertarians use them to attack regulations and economic justice. White supremacists use them to attack civil rights. No matter their agenda, they tie it back to those two words.
Meanwhile, we divide our fire into separate attacks: some target racists, some target misogynists, some target xenophobes, some target bigots. We name them all differently, fragmenting the attack instead of consolidating it.
They repeat it until it’s inescapable.
Turn on Fox News, and you’ll hear “woke” at least 20 times an hour. It doesn’t matter what the topic is—they find a way to blame it on “woke” or “DEI.” Economic struggles? Woke policies. Immigration? Woke Democrats. Crime? Woke prosecutors.
We need the same discipline. They should not be able to escape the words fascist and TEI (Trump-Endorsed Incompetence).
Every failure, every disaster, every scandal—TEI. Every authoritarian move—fascism.
They force people to pick a side.
They don’t let their audience sit in the middle. The message is simple: If you aren’t against woke, you are woke. And since “woke” has been framed as the villain, people are pressured into siding with them by default.
We need to do the same. There is no neutral ground. You are either fighting fascism, or you are complicit in it. Period.
We don’t need to invent villains. They are already here, tearing this country apart. We just need to brand them as the threat they are—and make that branding stick.
The Path Forward: Unify, Simplify, Repeat
This is the last time I’m saying this: If you are not contributing to a unified offensive, you are part of the problem.
Here’s what needs to happen immediately:
ONE TERM FOR THEIR MOVEMENT: Fascism. No more endless debates over whether it’s “authoritarianism” or “right-wing populism.” It’s fascism. Call it what it is.
ONE TERM FOR THEIR ACTIONS: TEI—Trump-Endorsed Incompetence. Every failure, every disaster, every corrupt act—TEI. Make it stick.
RELENTLESS REPETITION. Every time they say “woke,” say “fascist.” Every time they whine about DEI, hit them with TEI. Make them drown in it.
STOP WASTING ENERGY ON INTERNAL FIGHTS. If you’re more focused on winning social media arguments with fellow leftists than on crushing the right, you are part of the problem.
And if you can’t get behind this, then at least get behind something cohesive. Because right now, we’re losing—not because our policies are bad, not because our cause is weak, but because we refuse to focus.
The choice is yours: Win, or keep playing in the kiddie pool while the country burns.
If You Believe in This Fight, Help Keep It Alive
There’s still more below, but I need a quick moment of your time:
This work isn’t backed by corporations. There are no ads, no paywalls, no billionaires funding it.
It’s just one person, fighting like hell to expose the truth and give you the weapons to push back.
If you value this work—if you want this movement to keep growing, keep calling out fascism without fear, and keep fighting for the future we deserve—then I need your support.
Join the fight. Become a supporter. Every contribution keeps this mission alive.
Because silence is surrender. We do not surrender. We are #TheRelentless.
Stop the Silo Warfare
I am exhausted watching people on the left tear each other apart over which slice of the movement is the most important or who’s to blame for our losses.
Any time you’re fighting one another—instead of the real enemy—you’re helping us lose.
Not because your priorities are wrong, but because you refuse to act like a single force. Because you keep scattering your energy instead of focusing on winning against the people who want you crushed—playing right into their hands.
You all have valid fights—but NONE of them will survive if we don’t focus on the real enemy:
You scream about how “Democrats abandoned the working class”—but refuse to acknowledge that Republicans only won them over because they have unified, disciplined messaging that exploits economic anxiety while gutting workers behind the scenes.
You fight for racial justice—but instead of aiming all your fire at the fascists actively dismantling voting rights and stoking white nationalism, you waste energy battling over who's the "real" ally on the left.
You call out misogyny—but instead of keeping the focus on the people actually stripping away women’s rights, you spend energy castigating the Democratic Party for not "showing up enough" for Clinton or Harris—as if that’s the battle that matters right now.
You make Gaza your litmus test—but you’re willing to let the fascists who want to wipe it off the map take power because the rest of the party isn’t moving fast or hard enough to end the conflict.
You talk about saving democracy—but instead of hammering the fascists destroying our institutions, you waste time fretting over norms and traditions—when every last one of them will be wiped out if they succeed in ushering in their regime.
You push for bipartisanship—but refuse to accept that you cannot negotiate with fascists. They will use your civility against you while steamrolling every institution that lets them get away with it.
You rage against money in politics—but while you’re busy attacking corporate Democrats, the right is funneling billions into destroying everything you care about, from labor protections to bodily autonomy.
Every one of these battles matters—but every minute you spend fighting for YOUR silo is a minute you’re fighting FOR the fascists. You’re tearing down your own side while they march forward, completely unchallenged.
Keep this up, and ALL of it gets bulldozed. No unions. No civil rights. No reproductive freedom. No Gaza. No democracy. No middle ground. No campaign finance reform. Because under fascism, there are no policy debates—only submission.
Stop playing their game. Stop trying to win the internal battle while they’re waging war on all of us. Put that fire where it belongs.
Here’s the truth:
If we put our differences aside and unite to take them down, we can make ALL of these objectives a reality.
When we win, we don’t just defeat fascism—we build the future we’ve been fighting for. A country where workers have power, voting rights are protected, bodily autonomy is untouchable, and democracy is unshakable.
But first, we have to win.
You’re Not Alone in This Fight. We Are #TheRelentless.
At The American Manifesto, we aren’t just calling out the problem—we’re building the messaging strategy to win. We’re taking on fascism and TEI head-on, with discipline, clarity, and relentless force.
This information war isn’t a choice. It’s here. It’s happening. The only question left is:
Are we going to fight it as one—or let them pick us off one by one?
🔥 Join Us. Share. Fight back.
If you’re done with the infighting, if you’re ready to stop losing battles we should be winning, if you’re ready to be part of something unstoppable—then stand with us.
Because we are #TheRelentless.
And together, we will crush them.
Great article! I’m sharing this message on Bluesky today. The DNC needs to send out this messaging to their email list instead of asking for more money.
Truth: all their evil comes under 1 umbrella- fascism. Truth: division is part of their playbook. If we become & stay unified we win. Truth: Don’t lose focus. All living beings deserve the right to a fulfilling life. That is what we are fighting for. Don’t complicate it. Truth: you’re either part of the problem or part of the solution
