I do wish that folks with big platforms like her would talk about it more, and especially that they’d take a minute or two to explain what fascism is. Unfortunately, the word has been overused by people. However, even though academics have many definitions, they all pretty much converge into the same ideas.
NBC Nightly News aired that video on tonight’s broadcast and said that “they would be showing it in it’s entirety, frame by frame” - the audio was edited to exclude the language from the agent who said “get the fuck out of the car” as well as the expletive by the agent who shot Renee. It also blurred that last section where he shot her from the side of the car before her foot hit the accelerator.
Yeah, the media coverage has been pretty disgraceful… any journalist reporting on how Trump/Vance/Noem have described this shooting without immediately following up with the words “they’re lying scum who are confident their supporters are imbeciles who will never bother to look at the video” (or something to that effect but with equal contempt) should be fired on the spot.
MAGA has no interest in democracy because they support authoritarian practices. It's profoundly disappointing and initially unbelievable. This far in it the only critical issue is how to stop them.
