This Teacher Tried to Get His Students Deported. Let’s Make Sure He’s Never in a Classroom Again.
Dustin Renner offered to hand immigrant students over to ICE. The Board of Education has a choice to make—let’s make sure they choose justice.

UPDATE:
I have since been selected to address the Board of Education during the meeting where this incident will be addressed in my capacity as a former DACA and once an undocumented student in high school.
UPDATE 2:
Here’s the recording of my testimony to the Board of Ed:
Imagine sending your child to school only to find out their teacher was trying to get them deported. That’s exactly what happened at Overlea High School in Baltimore County, MD.
But this isn’t just a Baltimore County issue. This is a national issue. And whether you’re in Maryland or across the country, there’s something you can do right now to help hold this teacher accountable and protect students from this kind of abuse.
Dustin Renner—a Baltimore County teacher—is under investigation after allegedly offering to provide U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with the names of students he suspected were undocumented immigrants. His now-deleted social media posts, filled with xenophobic rhetoric, openly tagged ICE and suggested he was willing to help "clean out the school systems" of immigrant students.

When educators weaponize their authority to target students, it’s not just an attack on those children—it’s an assault on the very idea of safe and equitable education. It’s an attack on the dignity and humanity of children everywhere.
We are not here to incite chaos. We are not here to encourage harassment. We are here to demand accountability. From Overlea High School, from Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS), and from the Maryland State Board of Education. And with your help, we will ensure that Renner never teaches again.
Why This Matters
Education is meant to be a safe space for learning, growth, and opportunity—not a place where students have to fear their own teachers betraying them. What Renner did goes beyond personal opinion or free speech.
🔴 He violated the fundamental duty of a teacher: to protect and educate ALL students.
🔴 He attempted to use his authority to put children in harm’s way.
🔴 He created an environment of fear and distrust in the very institution meant to uplift young minds.
This cannot stand. The entire country is watching. Baltimore County Public Schools now has a choice: will they uphold the values of education and safety, or will they allow a teacher who has actively endangered students to remain in their ranks?
The Goal
Dustin Renner’s actions are already on the agenda for the upcoming Maryland State Board of Education meeting. But make no mistake—there’s a very real chance that people will show up in his support. We’ve seen it before: those who espouse hate often have loud, organized backing.
That’s where we come in.
This isn’t just a meeting—it’s a showdown between justice and hate. For every person who shows up to support Renner, we need at least 100 voices flooding their inboxes and phone lines demanding accountability. We want to make the right choice inescapable—and the disgrace of making the wrong choice unbearable.
Imagine the Board members sitting in that meeting, knowing that while a handful of Renner’s supporters may be in the room, there are thousands of voices from across Baltimore County, Maryland, and the entire nation demanding justice. That’s the kind of pressure that gets results.
This isn’t just about showing up—it’s about overwhelming the system with truth, accountability, and public pressure.
The Plan: Coordinated Action
We are not advocating harassment, nor are we calling for threats or violence. That is NOT how this movement operates. But what we WILL do is make our voices impossible to ignore.
1. Flood the Zone—Make Them Hear Us
📞 Call and email the Board of Education and Baltimore County Public Schools.
Do not spam emails. Send one email—make it count.
For calls, we aim to paralyze their phone lines until our message is delivered. Call until you get through at least once.
💬 Messaging Matters:
If you’re in Baltimore County: Emphasize that this is your community, your schools, and your children who are being endangered. They are accountable to you.
If you’re in Maryland but not in Baltimore County: Demand that the Maryland State Board of Education take immediate action.
If you’re from out of state: Make it clear that the entire country is watching. This is not just a local issue; this is a national scandal.
If you are an educator: Speak from your experience. Let them know that this kind of behavior has no place in the profession.
Your message should be direct and forceful but measured and professional. Something to the effect of:
🗣️ "This is a disgrace. This shouldn't be allowed to stand. The entire country is watching. The ball is in your court—do the right thing."
We have scripts/templates below that you can use as a basis of your message. Don’t make it a speech, keep it simple, our power is in numbers, not eloquence.
You can send your email right now, so don’t wait so you don’t forget. For the phone call, you’ll want to do it Monday, 02/10/2025, since the meeting is the following day in the morning. Again, paralyze their phone lines.

I'm a retired educator in New Mexico. Email sent; calling the Maryland Dept of Ed tomorrow morning.
Renner's behavior is beyond appalling!
This really enrages me. This is nothing more than a pathetic, insecure bully finding a target to focus on. That it be vulnerable children is reprehensible. Email sent. I live 500 miles away or I would show up to the meeting.
Please keep us informed of the outcome.
