🔴 UPDATE: March 25, 2025
Trump Signs Executive Order to Overhaul U.S. Elections—A Direct Strike on Voting Rights
Donald Trump has signed an executive order that amounts to one of the most aggressive assaults on voting rights in modern American history. Under the guise of “election integrity,” the order imposes sweeping new restrictions that will make it harder for millions of Americans to vote—especially those the oligarchy wants silenced.
This isn’t about preventing fraud. It’s about rigging the system.
Key Developments:
The executive order mandates documentary proof of citizenship for voter registration in federal elections—a requirement that disproportionately affects poor, elderly, young, and minority voters. (NPR)
It demands states purge voter rolls using DHS data and flags potential “non-citizens,” despite the fact that DHS data was never designed for that purpose. (CBS News)
States that do not comply with the order may be denied federal election funding, a move some constitutional scholars call coercive and legally dubious. (AP News)
Voting rights groups, civil liberties organizations, and state leaders are already mounting legal challenges, calling the order unconstitutional and an attempt to suppress the vote on a national scale. (Democracy Docket)
The Real Story: Who Wins and Who Pays the Price?
This is what they do—break the system, then claim they’re fixing it.
The people who benefit are the same ones who always do: the oligarchs, the elites, and the party that knows it can’t win without suppressing votes. This order is tailor-made to silence Black voters, Latino voters, young voters, naturalized citizens, and the poor—all groups that threaten Republican power.
And the people who pay? Working Americans who now have to jump through bureaucratic hoops just to cast a ballot. People who’ve voted their entire lives may suddenly be told they’re not eligible.
This is a deliberate strategy to choke democracy by targeting the very people it was meant to empower.
🔍 Why This Matters:
The Constitution doesn’t grant kings the power to cancel elections. But Trump is trying to do just that—executive order by executive order, one barrier at a time.
This order violates basic principles of federalism, voter access, and equal protection. It’s not just about red tape—it’s about erasing voters from the system before they ever have a chance to show up.
If this stands, the right to vote becomes a privilege for the few—not a right for all.
🚨 The Bottom Line:
Trump just signed an executive order to suppress the vote.
He’s not trying to win elections—he’s trying to control who’s allowed to vote in them.
This is how you kill a democracy: not in one blow, but in a series of calculated attacks.
If we don’t stop this, the next election might be the last one that still feels like a choice.

How much longer can he govern and change everything by executive order? I though there was a cutoff of around 60 days and aren’t we past that now?
Federal funding for elections varies wildly over the years, from $0 to several million. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a presidential election year or not. However, it's obvious that states can manage at least one year of elections without federal funding, so they shouldn't buy into this latest DOGE & pony show.
